Why can't I see all of a channel's videos?

Usually because the video sits on a different tab, or was never meant to appear on the channel page at all. The YouTube help pages we read today document five reasons a video you know exists can be missing from a channel, and only one of them is a setting on your side. Work down the list; each section quotes the help page it rests on.
1. It is on another tab
A channel page splits its uploads by type. YouTube's viewer guide: “To find different types of videos on a creator’s channel, select a video type at the top of the page. Tabs shown here vary by channel and the types of videos the channel produces. These tabs may include: Videos, Shorts, Live” (YouTube Help: Find your way around YouTube channel pages, read 22 October 2026). A Short will not be under Videos, and a past live stream may only be under Live.
The Home tab is not a complete list either. The same page says its “For you” section “surfaces a mix of personalized content based on your viewing history”, so two people opening the same channel can see different things there. For the full run of uploads, use the Videos tab and sort it; sorting a channel's videos by date has the steps.
2. The creator made it private or unlisted
Both settings keep a video off the channel page by design. YouTube's privacy page says “Your private videos won’t appear in the Videos tab of your channel homepage,” and the same of unlisted ones: “Your unlisted videos won’t appear in the Videos tab of your channel homepage” (YouTube Help: Change video privacy settings, read 22 October 2026).
The difference is who can still watch. Private videos “can only be seen by you and whomever you choose”, while unlisted ones “can be seen and shared by anyone with the link.” So if someone sent you a link that plays, but you cannot find the video on the channel, unlisted is the likely reason. The page's comparison table marks both as not posted on the channel and not shown in the subscriber feed.
3. It is for members only
Channels with memberships can post videos only paying members can watch. YouTube's memberships help says members “can also find videos on your channel page’s content and Posts tabs,” and that “Non-members will see a note that says that it’s only available to members” (YouTube Help: Create or manage your YouTube channel’s memberships levels & perks, read 22 October 2026). That page is written for creators; it describes what a non-member sees on trying to watch, not where such videos appear for you while browsing.
The same page describes a timed version, Members-only to public: content “that only your channel members can view for a certain period of time, before access opens up to others.”
4. It is age-restricted and you are signed out
YouTube's policy is short: “Age-restricted videos are not viewable to users who are under 18 years of age or signed out” (YouTube Help: Age-restricted content, read 22 October 2026). Signing in on an account that is 18 or over is the documented way in. The page also says that viewers who are over 18 and signed in “can tell whether a video is age restricted by looking below the description.”
5. Restricted Mode is on
This is the setting on your side. Restricted Mode “can help screen out potentially mature content”, and it may not be your doing: “Computers in libraries, universities, and other public institutions may have Restricted Mode turned on by a network administrator” (YouTube Help: Turn Restricted Mode on or off on YouTube, read 22 October 2026). To check on a computer: click your profile photo, then Restricted Mode at the bottom, and look at the Activate Restricted Mode switch.
It is set per browser, not per account: “Restricted Mode works on the browser or device level, so you must turn it on for each browser you use.” A channel that looks complete on your phone and thin on a work laptop is the pattern to watch for. If it stays on after you switch it off, the same page points to YouTube's content restrictions check, which shows whether an administrator or a mobile network filter set it.
What the help pages do not cover
None of the five pages quoted here gives a single troubleshooting list for videos missing from a channel page, and none of them explains a video that was there yesterday and is gone today (YouTube Help: Find your way around YouTube channel pages, read 22 October 2026). We will not guess at that one.
If the problem is the Subscriptions feed rather than the channel page, the causes are different; why the Subscriptions feed is not showing videos covers those, including the upload option that keeps a video out of the feed.
